Always strange

You know, I made a post in
iconrants assuming I wasn't a minority and somewhere would share my frustrations...then I get 20+ comments from people who do the very thing that I didn't understand. Why save 20,000+ icons on your hard drive? I mean, I love icons as much as the next person, but really...why keep them in this huge folder and not use them? Saving a piece of artwork I understand. Saving a 100x100 photoshopped image I don't. Not an entire library full.
But, being my luck today, you guys are going to come back and tell me how big your icon stores are and why you snag them then don't ever use them.
So the family gets to buy a new car. Apparently the transmission is practically dead and would need to be replaced. Considering that car's only seven years old and is only at 130,000 miles and has required more work than any car should, it's time to say good-bye. I realize we dragged you across country for five weeks, Grand Prix, and you've been to Utah and back a good nine times, but still. So we're trashing the 2000 car and the 1995 used car is still going strong. Go figure. Kinda like Dad's first accident when we bought the Grand Prix. Guy running the light totalled our 1995 car, but the 1983 was still going strong (well, not strong, but going). Oh well. The Grand Prix really hasn't been the same since the '02 trip. Climbing up over the Rockies out of Denver did something to it. I look back to when I was a kid, the fact that we went over ten years without a car change, but ever since like sophomore year of high school we haven't been able to keep a car. They really don't make them like they used to (and it is NOT because I started driving. I'm nice to the cars.).
Our health insurance companies are retarded. First they need my number of credit hours so they know I'm a full time student. Then they need my schedule of classes for my annual birthday renewal. Now the old insurance needs last winter's schedule to verify I was a full student. Who cares? You're not covering us anymore, I was a full time student, why do you freakin' need verification? I hate insurance. But without it my family would have been on welfare twenty years ago...we're a sick bunch of individuals.
Speaking of which, as soon as Mom sends me my new insurance card I'm going somewhere other the health center and figuring out what's wrong with my body. Like right now. I'm not in Biology becauseI watched Smallville instead I have what feels like a low blood sugar headache. I just ate four mini muffins and a large glass of milk...um...obviously not a low blood sugar headache. In fact, we'll check it right now. We all love blood, right? (memo to self, must find box of lancets).
...117. I'm normal! So why do I feel like I'm crashing? This combined with my digestive system really needs to get checked somewhere where they aren't going to say "You seem like you're just fine. It could just be some virus." No, idiots, this isn't a virus, or if it is, it's a very long lasting virus. (should not have poked the same finger two days in a row...really going to regret that) Anyway, I need to find out what's causing these fake low blood sugar headaches.
But for now, to school I go, even if it is only 36º and I don't wanna do it. Haha. Just have to remember, in another month, I will be wishing for 36º.
P.S.
katshakespeare wins at life, seriously.

Date: 2007-10-24 07:42 pm (UTC)But seriously, I totally agree with you. o_o I get using icons for LJ and MSN and stuff, but... does anyone really change their mind/icon enough to use 20,000 icons? That's, like, every minute, isn't it? Crazy!
Also, sorry to hear about insurance and not feeling well! :( I hope you get a new card soon! <3 <3 <3

Date: 2007-10-28 12:20 am (UTC)The icon that I'm speaking of is one where Hermione seems to be looking into the mirror (I apologize I can't remember the name) and she sees Ron holding her in the air about to kiss her. I would love to see the full size version and if you had a link or a copy of it.
Thank you!
