Spidey 3

I can't sleep. I'm on Kendra's laptop using stolen internet and 3:13 at night. Psycho? Yes.

Just got back from Spidey. I thoroughly enjoyed myself minus the entire student body of Provo High. The Carmike had all 12 screens showing Spidey tonight, dead serious. Insane amount of people. But it was fun. Bonnie ditched out on us, but it's okay. An 18 hour work day is a good enough excuse (isn't that illegal?).

I'll do spoilers and such later, but for now, I'll just give you my personal Superhero movie ranking:

1) Batman Begins
2) Spider-Man 2
3) Superman II (Donner Cut, although the Lester Cut occupied the same spot)
4) Superman Returns
5) X:2
6) Spider-Man 3
7) X-Men
8) Spider-Man
9) Superman: The Movie
10) Sky High / Thunderbirds / Fantastic Four / LXG (depends on the day)

By all means, I would LOVE for you guys to totally disagree with me on that list. And don't worry, that's not a definitive order...well, it is for the top 3. The rest depend on my mood.

That being said... #10 are where I stick the fun films that aren't necessary great cinematic masterpieces. But if you make this list, that means I thoroughly enjoy you. If you're not on this list, it doesn't mean I don't. I like X:3 for example. And yes, I'm a Superman nut and where does the first Supes movie show up? Yeah, #3. Sorry, Supes, as much as I love you...

First thoughts of Spidey 3 (without spoilers):
- I hate that you can't ever truly hate Marvel villains. I want to really hate them, and I can't quite.
- The Harry/Peter plotline is a lot of fun. I love what they did with it and felt it appropriate.
- I would've liked more Venom...yeah.
- Tobey Maguire should never wear his hair with his bangs down in front. Bad, bad idea.
- MJ does more than scream. This is good. I like her personality. You see what Peter likes in her, and you really truly feel for her.
- I wish Aunt May would come out and say that she knows Peter is Spider-Man. I'm pretty sure she knows, but it's hard to tell.
- I enjoyed the score very much. They didn't play with the Danny Elfman themes much, but I like the jazz that worked into it. Very, very nice. What was the composer's name again? Christopher Young I think?
- CGI is quite good, especially on Sandman. There are places where the buildings aren't so good. Eh, we'll blame those on Imageworks.
- I kinda wish this was the last Spidey film. I really wish 4,5, and 6 weren't already in the planning. This one has a good wrapped up feel to it. There is closure, you're pretty satisfied, and you have a sense that everything will fall into place.

Trailer Notes:
- I'm sorry, my desire to see Shrek the 3rd is completely gone. Too many stupid jokes aimed at the 8-10 boy crowd.
- Transformers...I think I'm gonna hafta see.
- Pirates...midnight party in 3 weeks, man!
- Rush Hour 3...I really can't believe Jackie Chan can STILL move like that, honestly!
- Bourne Ultimatum...bring it!
- WTH? Where was Harry?! I wanted to see it HUGE, but no...you didn't put it in front like it was supposed to be. Bleh.
