I hate asthma

Yes, I belong in Shakespeare. I am not in Shakespeare because I can't breathe (my inhaler and I, we're buddies today) for one, I had a headache for two, and three I wore my old Vans to school yesterday and they ripped up the back of my ankles, so even with bandaids and tape on my ankles, I still can't walk very fast. Otherwise, though, I'm in a fairly good mood =) But I'll pretend to be emo so my John Sheppard icon does not go to waste.
As
tibek commented yesterday, we managed to drop over 40 degrees in two days. She called it winter however, and I would just like to remind her that 50 degrees would be an incredibly warm winter day around here =P...especially compared to last winter *shivers just thinking about last season* The thought did cross my mind as I was walking to school yesterday that had I been at home, that would have been dead of winter weather. Walking to school at home in 45 degree weather is winter. And that thought made me sad and miss Hanford for about ten seconds.
Ever have those dreams where the weight of the world gets landed in your lap. I had another one of those during a quazi-nap yesterday. The parents, the sister, and the grandparents were part of this massive car wreck that killed all of them, leaving me the only inheritor. You have to realize that as my grandparents will is currently written, the only things I get are the piano and organ. So then I have to find a way home, having to take my CD out early to pay for my airfare, so go home and be handed two houses, Moppet, and all of my grandpa's investments. I don't know crap about investing, and if I ever have to take care of that money for real...that will be a nightmare. Blah, and what would I do with two houses? One in Hanford and one in Fresno? Two cities where I can't breathe at all. Blah. Anyway, yay for sucky dreams.
So yay, my three shows start this week! Yes, I watch two shows regularly, leave me alone, dang it! So yay, Smallville on Thursday, Atlantis and What Not to Wear on Friday! Yay! Talk about not being a normal American...I pull up the DVR list and everybody else saves The Office, Scrubs, Burn Notice, Psych, movies, football games...I save Atlantis and Smallville. Hello, I'm a nerd. Mercifully, Atlantis and What Not to Wear don't overlap each other.
So I read my current project in fiction yesterday, and one of the people in my class informed me there were no benches outside the Tiki Room. Okay, first of all, thanks for paying attention to whether my story was interesting or not. I'm glad it was more important to comment on non-existent benches. Second of all, I know those benches exist, dang it! I've sat on them, and checked with people who have been to Disneyland more recently than I have. Gah, nit pickiness during workshopping...especially incorrect nit pickiness.
Had a good lengthy talk with an Academy of Art University rep yesterday. She told me exactly what I need to do to get in, and was really cool about it. So, hey, WRITING GROUP OF DOOM members, got any problems with me bringing Analae and Topper in a screenplay? Come on, come on, I know it's appealing...come on Topper lovers, speak out.
New book: Elantris. Why? Because none of the twenty gazillion books I own or Rachel has asked me to borrow were working for me. Besides, since they killed the 400-level workshopping class, I might as well read the Science Fiction/Fantasy 318 teacher's debut novel, right? Besides, I'd call praise from Orson Scott Card nothing small and insignificant. AND, he doesn't fall into my pet peeve category. He's a Mormon who published with a real publisher!! Not a church books publisher or hole-in-the-wall publisher in SLC, he published with TOR! And Orson Scott Card loves the book, and he's the science fiction/fantasy writing teacher on campus. So there you go. I'm reading Elantris.
And now I'm going to allow one of these nice people waiting for a computer to have one. Aren't I so kind?
