Back in Utah
Nov. 27th, 2006 03:36 pmWell, back in Mormonville and as a welcome back present, it's been snowing all day. Thanks for the few people who gave me their opinion on the cameras. I'll probably wait until after Christmas to pull my trigger on any of them.
Besides, I found something I wanted more at the moment...Final Cut Express HD! I was still using 1.0...this is 3.5. I was trying to find a way to conserve space on my hard drive. Well, if I save them as h.124 encoded movies, they take up like no space. Well, Final Cut Express 1.0 can't read those because it's an HD file. So I was looking for a plug-in and then I said to myself: "Dude! You just got your birthday money! Treat yourself to upgrading Final Cut, you dork!" And so I went to Church History early, ran by the bookstore, bought my software, and here I am! So now I'll wait until I've got my Christmas money and take advantage of the New Year's sales. I like my plan. In the meantime, I'm installing 15 Gig worth of stuff on my compy. I got a surprise with Final Cut: Soundtrack and LiveType. Soundtrack I know how to use. LiveType is this wonderful little thing that makes really cool text animations and adds fonts to the font database. Good-bye ugly text in movies. Woohoo! LiveType is my new best friend.
I tried to do graphics last night...I'm incredibly stuck in graphics block. I mean, there's the OotP teaser to icon, the new stills, the HBO special, Spidey trailer, so much good stuff and I just don't have the drive. I even tried an L&C wallpaper and I couldn't even do that. Bah humbug.
I wanna walk to Carl's for lunch, but it's wet and slushy outside :( Anyone wanna drive me? LOL
OH! And lastly but not leastly...WE BEAT UTAH! Holy crap, what an amazing last three minutes. We won with no seconds left on the clock. GLORIOUS. Five-year losing streak is OVER! Man...if we hadn't lost those two games at the beginning of the season this could have been even sweeter, but really, we'll settle for the Las Vegas Bowl. But hey, we finished ranked 21st. Considering this season we played better than some of the folk ahead of us, that's not bad, and next year should be okay...even if we are losing John Beck *sobs at the loss of our Quarterback* Always sad to lose a quarterback at the quality of Ty Detmer and Steve Young, but it's okay...his little brother's only a Sophomore =)
