New Story Ideas

starrylitesOkay, so if there are people out there interested in my real life (*cough* Crystal and Melissa *cough*) then you'll have better luck here.
Now I'm going to ramble for my own benefit. If you folks don't want to listen, you don't have to. My guess would be the ramblings won't make any sense anyway, so I guess if you're really bored you can read them....but I wouldn't exactly call it a fun way to spend my day. Ha ha!

So I'm completely rewriting Heir of Enemies. I mean I took the first ten chapters I had done, saved them in a folder I'm not going to touch, and started over with Chapter One. I am already much much happier with it. It's feeling more like publishable material. The other felt like the rambling of some random story, but this time it feels a lot more like something that could be published. The relationship between Anya and Arion is much more loving and caring, much more father-daughter like. I'm also thinking that I don't need Andi to show up in the story yet. His character isn't as key as I once thought he needed to be. But I realized the Andi was a character put in the plot to create an odd mishap. Well, the mishap didn't show much, all it really did was set up Anya as a character. I've changed Anya's setup to something more fulfilling, something that feels more like a character that you would pity.
I also didn't like the fact that I made Arion a guilty party. It takes away the love and chemistry between himself and Anya, and I think that becomes very key. When he dies, the reader needs to feel that his death was a loss to the world, that it shouldn't have happened. His dying a guilty party in the war took away from that, so I decided he didn't need that element. It will further make Anya's banishment more pronounced, more angering. The idea is to feel hate toward Murky Hollow, and I was disturbing hate and mixed feeling where they weren't necessary.
So yeah, I'm done with that little babble. If anyone's interested to find out where this babble came from, I suggest to you check here. That's everything you need to know about my characters, although some have changed roles since I posted that. My short story is still perfectly ligitimate however. Okay, so if you're still reading this, I'm stunned. lol
